CHI PHI PROUD OF THON PARTICIPATION

Two Chapters team up for THON

Chi Phi was paired with Omega Phi Alpha for the second year in a row and enjoyed a great amount of success in this year’s fundraising effort!

Chi Phi raised $21.2K as an organization for a total of $49.5K as a paired organization! There were many exciting THON events Chi Phi hosted or participated in including a car smash on the HUB lawn (people paid to use a sledgehammer to smash a used car), a doughnut eating contest, and many more. Our biggest mission throughout the year is to building a strong bond with our families and we could not be more blessed to have them be apart of our lives. THE MEGAN MARTIN FAMILY

Just recently, Chi Phi and Omega Phi Alpha were lucky enough to be paired with a new THON family.  The Martin Family is a fun and energetic family that loves sports and is brand new to the wonderful world of THON. Unfortunately, Megan lost her battle to leukemia this past year. We are truly blessed to have to have got to know Megan. Everyday, we strive to honor her and her family and continue to find ways to support the Martin family.

THE JOSIAH GARCIA FAMILY

This is our fourth year being paired with our THON child, Josiah. Josiah was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia last summer. We are happy to say that Josiah officially finished his treatment on November 28, 2017! Josiah loves video games, nerf guns, music, and dancing.  Josiah is a big PSU football fan and cannot wait to attend Penn State as a student and a brother of Chi Phi.

THE MIRANDA ZIEGLER FAMILY

Omega Phi Alpha, has been paired with Miranda Ziegler since 2008, the same year she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  After just 5 months and 3 weeks after diagnosis, Miranda passed away and went to heaven. Miranda is an inspiration and a hero. To this day, Miranda’s parents, Tammy and Jeff continue to support THON and our organization.  We dance in honor of our angel Miranda’s memory and she inspires us each and every day with her strength, courage, and contagious smile.
